Columbus, Indiana
Client: St. Paul Lutheran Church
This historic Lutheran congregation was founded in 1848 and erected its current structure in 1887. CONTEXT teamed with Entheos Architects to develop the Master Plan for a new facility to house worship, fellowship, religious education and preschool under one roof on adjacent church property, while preserving the site's history and scenic character. The phased solution preserves the existing historic church building and adjacent cemetery for use as a Lutheran museum. Following completion of the Master Plan, the team was commissioned to design the first phase of development with focus on the new worship and fellowship components of the facility.
