The Shoppes were developed as part of the Providence at Old Meridian traditional neighborhood development (TND) and offer luxury loft apartments over ground-level retail and cafes. CONTEXT was commissioned to develop landscape compliance plans and construction documents for the second phase of construction and to assist in planning the site with the goal of acquiring LEED® certification for the project.
CONTEXT assisted in achieving credits through the use of vegetated open space, shade trees to reduce heat island effect of paving materials, and native and drought tolerant plant species to reduce the use of potable water for irrigation. Collaboration with the City, Owner and civil engineer produced a quality solution that exceeded the Owners expectations by also improving vehicular circulation to adjacent properties.
