Whether under blue skies or clouds, the sounds of children and parents playing at the Oakley Playground can be heard through the mature trees of Deming Park, one of Terre Haute's oldest, largest, and most popular parks. This cohesive family destination, with its completely accessible play areas, gardens, and walkways, celebrates childhood and the opportunity for all to play. Oakley Playground drew recreation professionals from across the state to an Indiana Parks & Recreation Association workshop in 2004 highlighting the playground's unique features, which were further honored with an IPRA Park Development award later the same year.
