SAUK CITY, WI – The office building is being designed and built by The Renschler Company (Madison) to maximize performance based in five key areas outlined by the United States Green Building Council. Those areas are sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

The walls and roof structure will be constructed of rigid insulation and concrete to create an energy-efficient building envelope. A white roof with a highly reflective coating will help reduce cooling demands. Many of the building materials were selected in part due to their reclaimed material content. Drought tolerant, native landscaping was chosen to minimize the need for irrigation and mowing. A mixture of prairie grasses and wildflowers will cover a significant portion of the building lot providing a natural habitat for wildlife, increasing storm water filtration and significantly eliminating storm runoff, and lower long-term maintenance costs.
