CONTEXT was commissioned in collaboration with American StructurePoint to design the new Illinois Street Corridor from 116th Street north to 126th Street in Carmel. The project also extends west to Springmill Road along 116th Street and includes three new roundabouts.
Incorporating dynamic forms, Indiana sandstone, seasonal landscape interest and public art, the vision for this corridor sets a new tone for the development of streetscapes and roundabouts throughout the City, while respecting those already established. CONTEXT developed complete design and construction documents for the heart of each roundabout, as well as holistic corridor and median planting and irrigation plans—all delivered within the City's aggressive budget and schedule for the project.
