The Columbian Park Zoo has been an integral part of the park and the Lafayette community for more than a century. The proposed Site Master Plan seeks to develop a new Zoo that respects this rich history while creating facilities that exceed contemporary standards for zoo development. The new Zoo must create a unique experience but relate sensitively to the functional and aesthetic aspects of the surrounding park setting. With Phase I currently under construction, the Zoo plans to reopen in 2007 and will continue to build toward the complete Master Plan vision.
