Terre Haute, Indiana
Client: Terre Haute Parks and Recreation
Established in 1892, Collett Park is Terre Haute's signature historic park, serving thousands of citizens. The Master Plan strengthens a park that celebrates a rich history while accommodating the diverse 21st Century needs of the local neighborhood and park patrons. The restoration of the historic Dancing Pavilion structure, located in the heart of the park, is the focus of the planning effort. Additionally, the Master Plan reinforces pedestrian and bicyclist uses while integrating way-finding and historical interpretive elements. Key elements of the original 1883 Plan, such as the Central Garden, passive seating areas, the band shell, and the abandoned carriage path loop, will be redeveloped.
